Back to News ListCelebration for top Sponsored Walk fundraisers
Posted on: 21st OctThis morning at break time we had a celebration for students across the year groups who raised incredible amounts of money at our recent 10k sponsored walk.
Students gathered in Walcott Hall and were treated to refreshments before they were presented with certificates for their achievements by Headteacher, Mr Prosser who said he was delighted with their fundraising efforts. “Well done and a big thank you to you all,” he said. “The amount of money you have managed to raise is brilliant. All the money will go back to the school and will benefit you and your fellow students.”
The top fundraiser was Zaira who raised an incredible £300. “I asked my family and friends for sponsorship,” she said. “It was a fun event, we got to dress up and raise money for the school.”
Dylan in Year 7 was taking part in his first sponsored walk and raised £75.00. “I asked my parents, Nanny and Grandad, my Mum’s cousin and some others for sponsorship,” he said. “It was a brilliant event.”
The final totals have yet to be tallied, but we look set to raise in excess of £20,000 - an incredible achievement. A huge well done to all our students. The decision on how to spend the money is a collaborative decision between staff and students.
