Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Volunteers help The Downs School

Posted on: 3rd Jun

Over half term, this team of volunteers from BizSpace (UK) Ltd came to transform our school as part of their business community commitment. We are so grateful for their time, their strong work ethic and their great humour as they painted, sanded, fixed and tidied up around the grounds. Time and resource we do not always have.

With over 1500 people at our school every day in term time, the buildings do take the strain and without regular maintenance, funding and care, a school can decline quickly due to the high volume of use. Luckily our Facilities Team keep our grounds to a good standard, but more help is always needed.

When businesses and corporations choose to work with state schools like us, the larger community benefits. Giving time and skill is one of the best gifts a community can give and ultimately, this gives our staff more time to focus on educating our students.

A huge THANK YOU to Gergana, Monika and their expert team for choosing to work with us today. Our Facilities Manager, Mr Llewellyn is particularly grateful!

We are grateul to the team at Volunteer Centre West Berkshire – Information and advice about volunteering in West Berkshire (volunteerwestberks.org.uk) for their continued support and excellent service for volunteering in the West Berkshire area.
