Back to News ListEnglish Dept Spelling Bee 2024
Posted on: 16th Dec
The past fortnight has seen the return of the TDS Spelling Bee. This annual challenge sees students first spelling in their classes from an agreed list of over 250 words, with the finalists representing their class at Year-level. This is an opportunity to demonstrate CREARCI courage, resilience, and ambition. The nerve-wracking competition tests commonly misspelled words, such as beginning, embarrass, accommodate, and then intensifies to include more challenging words, such as exhilarate, histrionic, grandiloquent, iconoclast, exacerbate and verisimilitude.
We have never been as proud of our spellers as we have been in this fourth year of the competition. Those who rose to the challenge and participated this year: thank you and congratulations! We can’t wait to spell with even more of you next year!
