Back to News ListAfter 18 Day 2025
Posted on: 23rd AprAt The Downs School, we are committed to supporting our Year 12 students in exploring all possible pathways after they leave school. Tomorrow, 23 April, students will be off timetable for a dedicated Post-18 Pathways Day.
The day will include sessions on university applications, apprenticeships, and routes into employment. Students will hear from guest speakers, including industry professionals and former Downs School Sixth Form students who will share their experiences.
They will take part in a Q&A session with alumni now in university, apprenticeships and employment, and attend workshops on CV writing, personal statement development, and applying for apprenticeships. There will also be a specialist session for those considering applications to Oxbridge, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine, led by our UCAS Manager, Mrs Waller.
Year 12 end-of-year exams will take place from Monday 23 to Thursday 26 June. In addition to revision during study periods and after school, students will have study leave on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 June.
Finally, students will have two dedicated UCAS Days on 27 and 30 June to work on their applications with tailored guidance and support.
It is an exciting and sometimes daunting time but we are here to help every post school journey.
