Posted on: 24th JunWith the sunshine firmly back in the sky and a week of warm weather to look forward to, it is a very busy few days at The Downs School. It is House Charity Day for Ridgeway and Chiltern Houses today, with many initiatives going on to raise money for their chosen House charities which are Cancer Research and the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA).
Sixth Formers who will start with us in September are taking part in induction days today and tomorrow, and we will welcome our Rising Year 7s later in the week for their first experience of secondary school. The students will take part in sample lessons, meet their tutors and get to meet and make new friendships. They will also have lunch with us and get to sample the delicious food on offer in the ‘Downs Diner’.
Years 7, 8 and 10 will take part in rounders matches against Theale Green school later in the week, and on Friday our Year 13 leavers will have their prom, a celebration to mark the end of their time at The Downs School and a final time to spend time together as a group before they move on to pastures now.
All in all an incredibly busy time!
